tube.tracker Features
  • Search For Your Specimen - Use our search utility to locate specimens quickly. The search utility will tell you if the specimen has been entered, if it is still active, or if it has been discarded.
  • Define Your Own Rack Types - Do you use different rack sizes in your lab? tube.tracker® makes entering specimens into different rack sizes easy. Just define your rack types and sizes once, and tube.tracker® will remember it for you.
  • Multiple Storage Containers - You can define as many storage containers as you wish. Containers can include refrigerators in your lab, or even multiple locations in the enteprise.
  • Four Levels Of Security - tube.tracker® offers 4 levels of user security for your convenience. These security levels include: Administrator, Normal User, Query Only, and Single Container user.
    1. Administrator: The Administrator has access to all of the features in tube.tracker®. You can add, modify, and deactivate rack types and storage locations. Administrators also have access to a user management section.
    2. Normal User: The Normal User is designed for the basic tech entering in the specimen tubes. This user can add and delete racks and tubes along with searching for specimen.
    3. Query Only User: The Query Only User has access to search for specimens. Do you need to grant access to someone so they could search for entered specimen but did not want them to modify any of your vital data? This level of security is perfect for that purpose.
    4. Single Container: This feature is useful for enabling remote draw sites and doctors offices to enter and track their specimens.
  • Specimen Validation - The Specimen Validator allows users to verify receipt of specimens when transported from one location to another.
  • Manifests - The manifest allows sites to print the contents of a rack or container for use in specimen transport.
  • Expiration Dates For Storage Container - Each storage container can be assigned an expiration date. This expiration date is applied to all new racks that are placed into the storage container. This feature comes in handy when you get ready to discard old racks. Racks that have passed their expiration date will appear in red for easy dumping when entering the rack management section.
  • Bulk Delete - When the time comes to discarding old racks, selecting multiple racks at once and archiving them is as simple as a few mouse clicks.
  • Transfer Racks - You are able to transfer racks from one storage location to another.
  • Storage Container Capacities - All storage containers can be assigned a capacity. If you know the maximum number of racks a storage container can hold, you can define that capacity in tube.tracker®. Then, when someone goes to add a new rack to a container that is full, it will prompt the user for a new container.
  • Automatic Rack Locking - With any multi-user system, you must take into account the possibility that more than one person could be managing a single resource at any one time. With tube.tracker®, automatic rack locking insures that only one person is adding or deleting tubes from a single rack at any one time.
